The Role
GP Synergy is seeking a committed and suitably experienced medical educator to join our NSW/ACT medical education team as the Regional Head of Education for the Western NSW region.
The Regional Head of Education will provide support and advice in resolving training queries and problems to other medical education staff within the program. They will identify where changes in training program policy and process are necessary, and reporting to the Deputy Director of Education and Training ACT and NSW, propose and implement change, particularly to ensure that regional variations are appropriate and clearly communicated within the organisation and to GP registrars and GP supervisors.
The role also involves all other Medical Educator responsibilities, which may include: the development and delivery of education activities, assessment of registrar performance, supervisor development and support, registrar training support and guidance, as well as other training related activities.
We are seeking GP’s with Fellowship of either the RACGP or ACRRM with experience and an interest in medical education. Becoming involved in general practice medical education provides the opportunity to develop the future health workforce, enabling succession planning through the provision of well trained and highly skilled general practitioners.
Hours and time commitment for this position are negotiable. Some travel mostly within the region is required.

Selection Criteria
To be considered for this opportunity, it is essential that applicants meet the following criteria together with the requirements as outlined in the position description Medical Educator (Grade 5A):
- Fellowship of either the RACGP or ACRRM
- Current vocational registration
- Experience in medical education
- Unrestricted motor vehicle licence (own transport is preferred)
