The Role
The School of Medicine and Dentistry is seeking to appoint a Professor/Associate Professor of Primary Care to lead the provision of high-quality learning, teaching, assessment and curriculum development and research in the areas of general practice and primary health care within the Doctor of Medicine program. This position will be responsible for increasing the range, quality and productivity of general practice and primary health care research in the School. The role provides significant opportunities for further career development for a senior general practice academic.
Selection Criteria
The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant contribution to all activities of the School and Academic Group and play a significant role within the Doctor of Medicine program. They will possess a primary medical qualification and relevant professional qualification (FRACGP, FACRRM or equivalent) and registration as a specialist in general practice with AHPRA. We expect the successful candidate to have a demonstrated ability in promoting student learning and curriculum development in general practice and Primary Health Care settings, including experience in university teaching. Substantial clinical experience in general practice and related disciplines, including experience working in an interprofessional health care team would also be an expectation.
