Ashley Hayes
My name is Ashley Hayes. I am interested
in becoming a representative on the AMEN Executive.
By way of introduction, I completed GP training in February 2013. My work as a Medical Educator commenced at the same time. I am also an accredited GP Supervisor, and am currently buying into a medical practice.
These different roles leave me well placed to understand the current challenges confronting GP training, whilst also providing a fresh perspective.
Decisions made now will shape working lives. This is particularly true for Registrars and New Fellows. Accordingly, I believe it is vital that their viewpoint is advocated as strongly as possible.
For my part, key priorities include
1. Protecting Registrars and Supervisors throughout the upcoming transition period
2. Ensuring that the apprenticeship model is retained, with appropriate checks to maintain high-quality standards
3. Working in partnership with our colleagues, for the betterment of everyone
4. Safeguarding the role of Medical Educators, whom provide essential support to both Registrars and Supervisors, at this time and into the future
Thanks for your consideration.
